AS MUCH AS I HATE TO ADMIT THIS...
Eric was right, mostly. Having a sketch you wrote succeed is ALMOST as good as sex. Tonight at O'Brien's Irish Pub--a big shout out to our pals & supporters there--when Heather (an FOB*) was talking about how funny "Dating For Dorks" is to her friend who lives just down the road from me in Lake Side Apartments but whose name I didn't catch (sorry about that) I nearly burst with elation. And then I told them that I was the one who wrote it. And I got high fives on top of the previous laughter. SWEET!
So thank you, E, for pushing me to write. And thank you to Lisa, Stern and Millie for taking the sketch to the next level. It wouldn't be anywhere near as funny without your characterizations and tweaking.
I can't wait to see how tomorrow night goes. I promise a full report after it's all said and done...whether you want it or not. I expect the same from you Austinians once the New Year's show is in the history books!
*Friends of Ben...AKA 1/2 of our nightly audiences.

Be careful what you wish for, Marea.
I tend to agree. It's not that I dislike being onstage and getting laughs, but there's nothing like being offstage and hearing the audience roar at something you wrote. All things considered, I'd rather be backstage and enjoy the laughter.
Maybe we can borrow Ben to pump up attendance. Oh, wait -- our shows always sell out. never mind. :-)
